“Splash” by Ayşegül Thornett
Running until 8 Dec is an exciting show at Slate – “Splash” by Ayşegül Thornett, an artist who was born in Turkey and currently lives in Sheffield.
Her work explores emotionally surviving in life, which for her is an illusion that can be lived in a dream state of pain or ecstacy.
The media she chooses to paint on and with is the reflection of this chosen psychological state.
Media used at this exhibition: Oil, pastel and acrylic on used-lived cardboard. Each cardboard carries a life memory.
Here’s a teaser, but do get along to see the work in person.
